Transcriptomics

Transcriptomics is the study of the transcriptome—the complete set of RNA transcripts that are produced by the genome, under specific circumstances or in a specific cell—using high-throughput methods, such as microarray analysis. Comparison of transcriptomes allows the identification of genes that are differentially expressed in distinct cell populations, or in response to different treatments.

An atlas of plant full-length RNA reveals tissue-specific and monocots–dicots conserved regulation of poly(A) tail length

This study established a comprehensive poly(A) tail atlas comprising over 120 million full-length RNA reads from various tissues and plant species and found that plant poly(A) tails peaked at 20 and 45 nucleotides, except in pollen and seed where they peaked at longer sizes.

TDP-43 upregulates lipid metabolism modulator ABHD2 to suppress apoptosis in hepatocellular carcinoma

TDP-43 acts as an RNA-binding protein that regulates the RNA stability of ABHD2 and affects the release of fatty acids and ROS, which in turn regulates apoptosis and affects the growth of liver tumors.

Identification of two intrinsic epithelial subtypes of colorectal cancer

By integrating single-cell and bulk transcriptomic analyses, we found that malignant cells belong to two major intrinsic epithelial subtypes. We propose a refined, three-tiered classification of colorectal cancer subtypes based on intrinsic epithelial subtypes, microsatellite instability status and the presence of fibrosis.
